No Playstation 4 at E3 2012

There will be no Playstation 4 announcement at E3 2012, head of Sony consumer products, Kaz Hirai, has confirmed. The company will be focusing their attention on other products.

As always, read on to find out why.

It has been rumoured profusely that both the Xbox720 and the PS4 should be making their debut appearances at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 for short. Sony, however, has publically denied that they will be attending the event with the anticipated PS4, instead they will be focusing on the PSVita.

Late last year an earlier comment by Sony Computer Entertainment president, Andrew House suggested that the console would not be appearing for a while, stating: “I don’t think we’re contemplating talking about anything to do with future console iterations at this point.”

“Andy (House) is absolutely right” Commented Hiari in a press roundtable at CES, “we are not making any announcements at E3. I’ve always said a 10-year life cycle for PS3, and there is no reason to go away from that.”

Is Sony trying to force too much life into the PS3? Will we see a “Surprise” reveal at E3? Will Microsoft explode and lead to a single console PS4 future? We don’t know, however do leave your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below.
