According to a report on an entertainments website, Variety, the star Michael Fassbender will take the leading role and Co-Produce an Assassins Creed film.
Fassbender, who we’ve recently seen gracing the screens with the hit film and prequel to Ridley Scott‘s Aliens, Prometheus. It is rumoured that he will team up with DMC film partner Connor McCaughan to bring Assassins Creed to the big screens for Ubisoft Motion Pictures.
“Michael Fassbender was our first choice [to play the lead role],” commented Jean-Julien Baronnet, CEO of Ubisoft Motion pictures. He continued by saying: “Michael is an extremely smart, tainted, versatile and committed actor.”
While we don’t know which character from the series of games that Michael will be portraying, or when the film is going to be released. We do know that Ubisoft has experience with taking games to the big screen, having recently worked with the film giants Disney to produce an adaptation of Prince of Persia, managing to get a decent run at the Box Office.
That’s not all, though. Variety also report that CEO Yves Guillemot also wants to develop film adaptations for the Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon Series’.
