Revealed at Sony’s gamescom 2012 press conference, Tear Away sees you playing as Iota, a messenger from another dimension who has a message to deliver to you in the real world. The only problem is, he can’t get there alone. He needs your help.
It may sound like a rather ridiculous concept, but it’s blissfully simple, and looks rather quite good. Although, what do we expect from the Demi-gods that are Media Molecule?
The 3D world of Tear Away is created entirely out of virtual paper and can be interacted with in numerous ways by you, the player. Media Molecule demoed the game on stage, showing off how you can push your fingers into the game world using the Vita’s touch sensitive screen and rear panel, blow into the world, tilt the Vita, and take pictures to create new skins for NPC’s (Non Playable Characters).
No release date was given for Tear Away, but it’s exclusively coming to PS Vita.
